Werruna Residential Care Unit

Werruna, a ten bed aged residential care unit for people with advanced memory loss and confusion is first class in design and finish.

Light and open communal areas encourage unrestricted movement within secure and controlled spaces, allowing care to be personal and interactive. Outdoor farm spaces encourage participation and maintain connection with rural community life.

Werruna has been self-funded by Hesse Rural Health Service with generous community and philanthropic donations.

Hesse Rural Health Service relies on the generous support of the community to provide high quality services and programs.

- the Ladies Auxiliary in 2009 raised an impressive $9,659
- a generous bequest facilitated the naming of the Jessica Wilson Garden
- Winchelsea Lions Club donated a low-line piano and Nintendo Wii Sports (electronic wireless games) package to the aged care residents
- all proceeds at an Open Day at Murdeduke Gardens went to the HRHS
